Dear Person(s) Trying to Hack My Site
In the last 24 hours you’ve attempted to brute force your way into my website at least 28 times from at least 7 different IP addresses via VPN or a proxy. I know this because I get an email every. single. time. you attempt to login and fail to do so. I know which account you’re trying to login through, too.
There were at least 20 tries between the 14th and 15th. There were more attempts at earlier dates. Like I said, I get an email that comes equipped with the username you tried and the IP you tried with. I figured that if you were going through this trouble, maybe it was time for me to say hi. As you well know, after that fourth failed login attempt you can’t try again from that same IP for 8,760 hours. Which might seem excessive to you, but I mean, I find your repeated attempts to get into the website excessive.
I’m actually curious as to why you’re so damned determined to get into a site with sporadic updates that don’t come as often as they should that’s filled with random musings and has an incredibly small readership. I’m honestly just really curious as to the point? I mean, maybe if I was running an extremely important website or whatever I could see it. Maybe even if the idea was to upload hostile files in hopes of infecting many computers, I could see it. But you, dear hacker(s), probably make up most of my daily traffic these days because I haven’t updated the site in nearly a year before this post. I doubt that posting this will save me from the multiple emails informing me of what you’re doing. Hell, it might even increase the effort. Which means I will, yet again, increase my efforts to keep you from messing with my shit.
