Horror & Suspense Offerings from Hulu & Netflix

I know a lot of people use both Hulu and Netflix, or just one of the services, so I collected movies that I enjoyed from each service here for your viewing pleasure. There are many other movies besides the ones listed, and I’m constantly watching new movies that would be right at home on this list. Expect a few updates through the month of October as I watch my way through a bunch of movies.
You’re Next (2011 – Hulu)
Synopsis: Aubrey and Paul decide to celebrate their wedding anniversary with their family by inviting them to a reunion, but everything goes awry when their home comes under siege by a mask-wearing team of crossbow-bearing assailants.
American Psycho (2000 – Hulu)
Synopsis: Patrick Bateman, a young, well-to-do man working on Wall Street at his father’s company kills for no reason at all. As his life progresses his hatred for the world becomes more and more intense. Based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis.
Oldboy (2003 – Hulu & Netflix)
Synopsis: After a drunken night on the town, a man wakes up locked in a private prison and he has no idea why. After 15 years he is set free and goes looking for answers.
Perfect Sisters (2014 – Hulu & Netflix)
Synopsis: Tired of their mother’s alcoholism and a string of her abusive boyfriends, two sisters plot to kill her.
Shutter (2007 – Hulu)
Synopsis: A young photographer and his girlfriend discover mysterious shadows in their photographs after a tragic accident.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser (1987 – Hulu & Netflix)
Synopsis: Sexual deviant Frank inadvertently opens a portal to hell when he tinkers with a box he bought while abroad.
The Eye (2002 – Hulu)
Synopsis: At the age of two, Mun went blind. It’s eighteen years later and a new and risky corneal transplant operation restores her vision, but a series of inexplicable events leads her to believe there is more than meets the eye to her new found gift of sight.
Night of the Living Dead (1968 – Hulu)
Synopsis: A disparate group of individuals takes refuge in an abandoned house when corpses begin to leave the graveyard in search of fresh human bodies to devour.
The Human Centipede: First Sequence (2010 – Hulu & Netflix)
Synopsis: A deranged surgeon plans to make his morbid fantasy come true by suturing three people together through their gastric systems.
Candyman (1992 – Hulu)
Synopsis: Look into a mirror. Say his name five times. He will appear… and you will pay the price.
Tucker & Dale VS Evil (2010 – Hulu & Netflix)
Synopsis: Tucker and Dale, two best friends on vacation at their dilapidated mountain house, are mistaken for murderous backwoods hillbillies by a group of obnoxious, preppy college kids.
White (2011 – Hulu)
Synopsis: Girl group Pink Dolls are overshadowed by other more popular idols. After covering a mysterious song “WHITE” they gain instant fame. Soon, every vocalist of this new song meets with a horrible accident. Could this song be a curse rather than a blessing?
Children of the Corn (1984 – Hulu & Netflix)
Synopsis: As Burt and his girlfriend, Vicky, drive across the Midwest to his new job, their trip comes to a sudden halt when they encounter the body of a murdered boy in the road. In trying to contact the authorities, Burt and Vicky wander into a small town populated only by children, followers of sinister young preacher Isaac Chroner. Soon the couple is fleeing the youthful fanatics, who want to sacrifice them to their demonic deity
The Woman (2011 – Hulu)

Suicide Club (2002 – Hulu)

Banshee Chapter (2013 – Netflix)
Synopsis: Anne investigates the links between her friend’s disappearance, a secret government chemical and an odd radio broadcast with an unknown origin.
Contracted (2013 – Netflix)
Synopsis: A young woman develops horrifying symptoms after she is date-raped at a friend’s party.
John Dies at the End (2013 – Netflix)
Synopsis: A new drug promises out-of-body experiences, but users are coming back changed forever, and an otherworldly invasion of Earth is underway.
Let the Right One In (2008 – Netflix)
Synopsis: When Oskar, a sensitive, bullied 12-year-old boy living with his mother in suburban Sweden, meets his new neighbor, the mysterious and moody Eli, they strike up a friendship.
Nightbreed (1990 – Netflix)

The Babadook (2014 – Netflix)
Synopsis: A troubled widow discovers that her son is telling the truth about a monster that entered their home through the pages of a children’s book.
The Fly (1958 – Netflix)
Synopsis: When scientist Andre Delambre tests his matter transporter on himself, an errant housefly makes its way into the transportation chamber, and things go horribly wrong.
The Host (2006 – Netflix)
Synopsis: Careless American military personnel dump chemicals into South Korea’s Han River. Several years later, a creature emerges from the tainted waters and sinks its ravenous jaws into local residents.
The Omen (1976 – Netflix)

The Returned (2013 – Netflix)

Wes Craven’s New Nightmare (1994 – Netflix)
