My Goals for 2014
Gonna start this out by stating I hate the term “resolution.” Whenever we think of that word we think of failed tries at one thing or another. So I want to set up a list of goals to work towards for the year. If things work right I’ll actually be able to accomplish these goals. As an aside..I need to reupload my default Devil lecture pic since it seems to have dropped off the site. My goals for this year are as follows:
1: Stay up to date with adding content to this site. I noticed that there was a dramatic drop off of me adding content with me getting a job. Which makes sense. When one is unemployed there’s nothing to block you from acting as if you are the be all end all. That being said. I think I have found a balance of work life, home life, and spare time where I’ll be able to contribute to the site overall.
2: Visit the extended family. One thing I knew going into the relationship with my now wife, Amber, was how important her family was to her. There is some very exciting stuff going on this year that I want her to be a part of if possible.
3: Work on getting a real place to call home. Don’t get me wrong..a year lease on an apartment is fine and all when yer in yer early 20s..But once you start knocking on your 30th year its time to actually get a place you can call your own. (at least if yer in a marriage)
4: Seriously take time to sit down and look at the idea of making a family. A family that includes children of our own. This has been a thing that the wife and I have had numerous conversations about over the past couple of years. Only thing stopping us is her current job in retail.
5: Actually get Crow up for a visit. Cause it’s been long enough and we would love to house her. Especially if we get a copy of CAH.
6: Quit smoking by the end of the year. Full on quitting. No using gums, or e cigs, etc. Been smoking for way too long. Time to cut that expenditure out of my life.
7: Keep my current job.
I know..Not a whole lot of goals..but they all are things that I feel I can manage within the next year. And it’s stuff that will keep me from overly stressing out (minus the quitting smoking). I deliberately left off losing weight because that is one of those cliched things that really ends up being something that happens or it doesn’t. No need to stress over it. Count this as a start for Number 1 on my list
